Li Xiaoming received his Ph.D. degrees in Geophysics and Marine Remote Sensing, from the University of Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany and Ocean University of China, Qingdao, China, in 2010, respectively. From June 2006 till January 2014, he was a research scientist with the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen. Since February 2014, he has been a full professor in the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth and the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research interest is SAR remote sensing for ocean and polar. Prof. Li has published over fifty academic papers in peer-reviewed journals focusing on the topic of SAR oceanography. He is the chief scientist of the national Key R&D program and obtains the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2021. He was elected to the CAS "Hundred Talent Program" in 2015.
