Professors

Shen Qian is a professor of CBAS. She obtained the B.E. degree in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing from Wuhan University, China, in 2004, and the Ph.D. degree in Cartography and Geographic Information System from Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, in 2009. Her current research focuses on remote sensing of big data of water environment, remote sensing of black and odorous water bodies. In the past five years, she has served as the principal investigator for more than 10 national and provincial projects, including grants from the General Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, sub-projects of the Progress of Strategy Priority Research Program of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and projects of national ministries and commissions. She has also spearheaded the development of the operational algorithm for monitoring black and odorous water bodies using high-resolution images. In 2012, she co-authored the academic monograph "Inland Water Hyperspectral Remote Sensing". Over the past five years, she has published 28 peer-reviewed papers in domestic and international journals and conferences, including prestigious venues such as Remote Sensing of Environment International Journal of Remote Sensing and Scientific Data, 18 of which were indexed in SCI. During this time, she has applied for 5 national invention patents, of which 6 have been granted. In 2013 and 2020, she was awarded the Second Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Award in Environmental Protection, and in 2016, she received the Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Award from Chinese Academy of Sciences.
