Prof HE Changchui has a PhD in geo-informatics from Peking University. He is an Academician of the International Eurasia Academy of Sciences. 

Engaged in research work in the Chinese Academy of Sciences before joining the United Nations in 1988, where he served 25 years and progressively held various senior positions including the Deputy Director-General of FAO/UN. He is the author of monographs in food security and global governance as well as scores of papers in digital earth.
