Professor Justice received his PhD from the University of Reading, U.K. His research is focused on the use of time-series satellite remote sensing for global agriculture, fire and land use monitoring. He is the Project Scientist for the NASA Land Cover Land Use Change Program. He is the Lead for the NASA MODIS and Suomi-NPP VIIRS Land Discipline Team. He is the Chair of the international GOFC-GOLD Program and is Co-Chair of the international GEO Global Agricultural Monitoring Initiative (GEOGLAM). He is the science lead for the NASA Harvest Consortium, which is focused on the application of remote sensing to agricultural monitoring.
