Professor Svenning earned his PhD in Tropical Plant Community. He has been a Professor at Arhus University since 2009, and the Director of Center for Biodiversity Dynamics in a Changing World (BIOCHANGE) since 2017. Professor Svenning’s research interests include Macro&field-based ecology, Ecoinformatics, Plants & megafauna, Past, Present & future global change, and conservation & restoration.

Professor Svenning is a prolific author serving as the Editor in Chief of the Ecography since 2010. He has published numerous papers in Nature, Science, PNAS, and other journals, and is the recipient of several prestigious awards.
