DBAR Program recognized for its efforts to provide support for the green development of the Belt and Road Initiative in A Decade on: Innovation and Practice in Developing Green Belt and Road

A Decade on: Innovation and Practice in Developing Green Belt and Road was officially released on October 18th, 2023 during the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation High-level Forum on Green Development. The Report has also been included in the List of Practical Cooperation Deliverables of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. The report featured the Digital Belt and Road Program (DBAR),  recognizing it innovative applications in big Earth data for sustainable development of Green Belt and Road.
Innovation is an important factor for the development of the Green Belt and Road. DBAR is committed to leverage digital technology and big Earth data application to realize the Sustainable Development Goals, thereby supporting the advancement of Belt and Road Initiative through the exchange of data, technology, and knowledge. DBAR offers scientific and decision-making support towards the development of Green Belt and Road, aligning with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals and support efforts to facilitate implementation of global development initiatives. Over the past seven years, DBAR has achieved substantial advancements across Belt and Road countries, making a significant impact in various sectors including ecology and environment, social and sustainable development, scientific cooperation, and capacity building.
Initiated by Chinese scientists, DBAR was officially launched in May 2016 and is currently operated under the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals. Over the last seven years, DBAR membership has expanded from the initial 26 countries, international organizations, and international programs to 59, establishing an international network and diverse partnerships that include nine international scientific working groups and nine international centers of excellence.
